I started teaching Data Processing, now Computer Science, at Tascosa High School April 1974. I taught introduction to computer, keypunch, data entry, and programming. Then there was the introduction of microcomputers into the business market, so the shift when from teaching programming to teaching applications like word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and desktop publishing. I taught in the classroom until 1992. For the next 12 years as District Computer Trainer and Instructional Technology Specialist, I trained teachers, staff, and administrators on computer applications and how to use technology in the classroom. In 2004 I retired from Amarillo ISD after 30 years in education. I soon was bored and started look for something to do part-time. Found a part-time at Texas Animal Health Commission that turned full time after three months. I enjoyed the change from education. Retired 2017 after 12 years as an Administrative Assistant.
