Mark Gething, 68, of Pampa passed away on February 22, 2021 in Pampa.

Mark was born November 11, 1952 in Pampa to Bill and Grace Gething.  He graduated from Pampa High School in 1971 and went to earn his degree from TCU in 1976.  Mark married Marna Travis Oldham on December 1, 2007 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  Mark worked for Ryker Pharmaceuticals for many years before going to work for TDCJ.  He retired in 2015 after working 6 years as a correctional officer. Mark was involved in the Pampa Kiwanis Club and the Amarillo Downtown Kiwanis Club over the years. He took pride in his yard, making sure the grass was cut and the flower bed was taken care of. Mark grew up in the Boy Scouts and later achieved his Eagle Scout. He enjoyed working with the scouts as an adult. In 2010, he and his father were able to travel to Virginia to the National Scout Jamboree.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his wife, Marna of the home; 2 sons, Robert Gething and wife Stephanie of Amarillo and David Gething and wife Liz of Westminster, Maryland; his father, Bill Gething of Pampa; brother, William Grant Gething and wife Joyce of Pampa; 4 grandchildren, Liah, Carter, Emmalynn, and Charlotte; and a nephew, Jacob Grant Gething of Pampa.
