David Lewis

Moved to Odessa in 1967 and to Dallas in 1972, but never got over leaving Pampa.
Married in 1974, got degree in 1976, and never got clear of the Dallas Tar Baby.
Crossed the US solo on a bicycle in 1992 (with Larry McPhillips and Mike Brantley along in spirit.)

(Not exactly PHS, but I moved away in '67) During 7th grade, 3 of us got in trouble with Mr. Trusty after staging a demonstration on the front steps of PJHS. He let us go, but promised that it would go very hard on any of us who showed up in his office again.

Sure enough, I wound up in his office the following fall and got a double portion from his paddle -- from the look in his eyes, I knew it would do no good to protest any of it. After the paddling was done, I handed him the note Mr. Craig had sent me to deliver. The rest of the year, it was like having a "Get Out of Jail Free" card in my pocket.
